CouncilThe 5th Annual Festival of Art, 2011
This year, the festival of art was held at the Vaughan Shand Center (formerly the Hawbolt's furniture building) at 69 Cedar St. Windsor.
This is an absolutely beautiful location that provided a perfect backdrop for the art on display.
Kelly Mitchelmore was our guest speaker this year. She shared her
thoughts on the link between the arts and a vibrant community, as well
as a few tips on marketing.
This year also saw the first awarding of what will be an annual prize:
the HCAC Hall of Fame Award. The first recipient is David Howells, in
recognition of the enormous amount of work he has put into creating the Arts Council.
As an added bonus to a great show: this year saw more sales of art
than ever before. (Actually - more than the total number of pieces sold at all previous shows!).
